New Year. New Start. New Blog.





Hello 2016! As with any new year the feelings of rejuvenation and rebirth are all around me. I spent the better half of 2015 rediscovering myself and new avenues of creative expression. I made goals that I did not keep and to do lists that never got scratched off. Before I turned 30 I told myself that I was going to get my passport and get it stamps so I did it! I also told myself that I would get a stamp in my password at least once a year... well 2015 came and went. But that is coming to an end in 2016. I am already thinking about Germany or Budapest in the fall.


So these are my intentions with this blog, to be a journal of thoughts and goals and the pursuit of a better healthier life. With the hope that putting them out for the world to see will hold me accountable, like the idea of having a buddy to go to the gym with.

So here are a few of my goals for 2016 (in no particular order)
  1. Meditate every day, once in the morning and once at night before going to bed. (at least 5-10 mins.)
  2. Practice yoga regularly. This could be part of my meditation at home or go to a class weekly.
  3. Focus on positive energy.
  4. Travel at least once per season and one trip out of the country.
  5. Grow an herb garden: cilantro (I've killed my cilantro every time so far) basil, rosemary, thyme, and parsley.
  6. Remove all toxic chemicals/products from home. Replace with sustainable and clean products. This includes; household cleaning and beauty products.
  7. Clear out clutter. Remove all items that do not bring joy or purpose.
  8. Try the capsule wardrobe for at least 30 days.
  9. Cook more. Eat out less.
  10. Hold to a plant-based diet (I used to be a meat eater and I have had a few slip-ups in the past for convenience sake).
  11. Take more photos! I have always loved photography and took classes in high school and college, I want to use an actual camera more verse using my iPhone.
